Fresh, Bold, & So Def (FBSD) is a women and gender research and archive project created to empower and cultivate women in Hip-Hop through a social enterprise solution’s model that is both educational and entrepreneurial. Incubated at the Hip-Hop Education Center at New York University's Metropolitan Center, the objective of FBSD is to promote positive images and motivational stories of powerful women in diverse roles and leadership positions within Hip-Hop culture through an educational platform that can be used in classrooms, libraries, museums, community centers, public forums, employment centers, and correctional facilities.

DJ ROXXI burst onto the South African music scene in 2006 and took the industry by storm. This dynamic female DJ/Producer/Songwriter and now emcee/rapper has firmly established her brand within the South African music industry in just 4 short years and has not looked back since. Roxxi has worked hard to claim her spot as one of Africa’s top female DJ’s and producers and has not looked back since. Her style ranges from commercial and electro house to RnB/Hip Hop and even Bhangra. Awards She was selected as one of Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Top 25 Awesome Women of 2006. Roxxi also was selected as a rising star in the Standard Bank Salutes Women of KZN Awards in 2008. Roxxi has shared her literary talents to www.jhbdesi.co.za, www.simplybhangra.com and South African lifestyle magazine Eish as well as on her blog. In 2009 Roxxi was chosen along with many other South African celebrities and Dj’s to become a brand ambassador for the kick racism campaign. In 2012 she was selected as one of the first brand ambassadors for Quick Trim South Africa which is an international brand represented by Kim Kardashian. In 2007 Roxxi was selected as the only female dj on board the AXE Jet experience to Ibiza with top S.A celebs such as DJ Fresh, Roger Goode, Jeannie D and Slikour. This gave Roxxi the opportunity to travel to Ibiza and dj with top South African celebrity Dj’s Soon thereafter Roxxi co-headlined major events with top SA djs playing at events such as the 5FM New Years Eve Parties, 5fm Miller Durban July after party, G&G Rage festival and Akon Afterparty to name a few. Roxxi was also signed with Oskus Media in India who handle all her bookings in India. In 2009 Dj Roxxi decided to embark on a new venture. She teamed up with fellow artist Nic Billington and penned a track entitled “Away” The track features Nic Billington on vocals and was also produced by Craig Massiv from Flash Republic fame. The track reached number 1 on East Coast Radio local charts In 2012 Roxxi followed up her musical efforts when she collaborated with Supersterre Top 10 contestant Darrius to release “illuminate me” which also features Roxxi on her debut rap performance. Roxxi is currently working on two follow up singles this year with some of SA’s hottest artists. Having claimed the title as Africa’s first Indian female club DJ and producer, Roxxi can now include being Africa’s first Indian female Rapper. Roxxi plans on having hosting her own radio show soon allowing the masses to tune into the Roxxi experience. With a dedicated fashion label for clubbers been finalized and an upcoming launch of her new movement S.T.A.R.
