Ethel Cee aka E.CEE first came to national attention as one half of Versus (one of the illest female mc-duos Philadelphia has ever seen) and under the umbrella of the tight-knit hip-hop network Squadzilla. After three years in the duo and the SZ collective (including performances at The Painted Bride, The Black Lily in Philadelphia and Monster Park in San Francisco), she struck out on her own as a solo artist. E.Cee has been re-introducing herself to Philly audiences as well as gaining the attention of crowds in New York and DC. With opening performances for everyone from Grand Agent and Immortal Technique to Seun Kuti & Egpyt 80, media and crowds alike are beginning get the idea that E.Cee’s range goes further than 16 bars. Deftly combining drum’n’bass, house, and hip-hop and a resume getting longer by the minute, her rhymes about love, loss and frontin’ are sure to position her as the girl “who’s got next” in the hip-hop/dance scene. E.Cee is also a popular host for infamous Philly party favorites such as the Zodiac, Living Legends and more. She is paired with DJ Ultraviolet, a favorite amongst DJs and music lovers alike. She recently starting working with Break Bread Project’s Nut House and completed The Happy Pills Mixtape, a follow-up to her self titled EP. Featuring production from Doc Martin and Doc Fader, E. Cee’s debut The Ethel Cee EP is available now. She also appears on Squadzilla’s first LP, The Illadelph Escape. She is currently gearing up for her first solo LP due in 2009. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ethel-Cee/24407712819
