Fresh, Bold, & So Def (FBSD) is a women and gender research and archive project created to empower and cultivate women in Hip-Hop through a social enterprise solution’s model that is both educational and entrepreneurial. Incubated at the Hip-Hop Education Center at New York University's Metropolitan Center, the objective of FBSD is to promote positive images and motivational stories of powerful women in diverse roles and leadership positions within Hip-Hop culture through an educational platform that can be used in classrooms, libraries, museums, community centers, public forums, employment centers, and correctional facilities.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, QUEEN GODIS is a Creative Activist. Known for her innovative work as both a Performance Artist, Artistic Director and Performance Art Therapist, Queen travels nationally and abroad in service to various communities seeking transformation through Art. From the page to the stage and beyond, Queen is a lyrical visionary with a penchant for spirited Poetry, Music, Classic Hip Hop, Theater and Story-Telling. She is currently completing two new books and is published in an international book-cd release: “Echos Chapter One: Nubian Voyager’” produced by the Grammy-nominated, Afro-European duo Les Nubians. Her celebrated debut album, POWER U! also highlights GodIs as a budding engineer and producer with a keen sensibility for developing creative and technical content. Her performance features have included the Trans Atlantic Music Festival (France), BAM Opera House, Nokia Theater, Apollo Theater Sound Stage, The Kennedy Center, artistic residency (India), Merle Reskin Theater (Chicago), Contact Theater (UK), The Royal Shakespeare Company (UK) and The Arts Alive Festival in (Johannesburg, South Africa) to name a few. A Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude Scholar, Queen has used her studies to help design and build unique curriculum to embrace the Arts and Voice Identity as viable tools for bridging professional development and wellness. Hundreds of high-schools, colleges and universities have invited Queen to share on both the stage and in the classroom as Education Consultant, Youth Mentor and Guest Lecturer. Her work with both emerging and professional artists has been documented by MTV Radio, National Public Radio (NPR), BBC News, WBAI, MSG Network and the HBO documentary mini-series Brave New Voices. Queen was recently awarded an opportunity to participate in 30Summit – a TED-Talks inspired forum in which 30 celebrated young leaders are nominated to share, discuss and refine the impact of their legacies on local and global communities. QG is currently touring, facilitating and creating new work including The Adventures of Auntie Queen -– an inter-generational, multi-media project and blog chronicling her travels and experiences. http://www.queengodis.com/
